Independent IPTV testing for US households

Best IPTV for families and multi-screen homes

A household with three or four people watching different things at once is buying a different product from a single viewer, and the price rankings change completely. The cheapest service on our main list is the worst choice here, because it does not support multiple connections at any price.

Two things decide this category: what each additional simultaneous stream costs, and whether the channel lineup is something you are comfortable leaving unsupervised.

The ranking

  1. VocoTV

    Best for large households

    9.0/10

First for pricing. The five-connection package costs less than what most services here charge for three, and in testing the streams behaved independently — one device buffering did not drag down the others.

    • Held a full stream through peak evening hours in every test window
    • Catch-up and EPG populated correctly on all tested apps

    What does not

  4. KroozTV

    Best short-term plan

    8.7/10

  5. EarthWebTV

    Clearest pricing

    8.5/10

Up to five connections with every combination priced publicly, so you can work out the exact family cost before starting. The small on-demand library is the thing to check first.

    What works

    • Every price for every cycle and connection count is published up front
    • Second-cheapest annual rate on the list at $110 a year
    • Plan tiers stop at five connections, so there is no confusing sixth tier

    What does not

Work out your real connection count

Count the screens that will be playing at the same moment, not the number of people in the house. Two adults and two children rarely means four simultaneous streams — it usually means two, occasionally three.

Buying more connections than you use is the most common way households overpay here. Start with one more connection than you think you need and add later if you hit the ceiling.

Content control matters more than parental PINs

Most services offer a PIN-protected parental control that hides adult categories. It works until someone finds the PIN, and it does not prevent a category appearing in search results.

VinomTV takes the different approach of not carrying that content at all. For some households that is a meaningfully stronger guarantee, and it is the reason it ranks second here despite scoring lowest of the eight overall.

Common questions

How many connections does a family need?

Count simultaneous screens rather than people. Most four-person households use two or three connections at once, not four.

Which IPTV service is cheapest for multiple screens?

VocoTV. Its five-connection package is priced below what most services charge for three connections.

Can I filter adult content?

Most services offer a PIN-based parental control. VinomTV removes adult categories from the lineup entirely, which is a stronger guarantee than a PIN.

Does one person watching affect everyone else's stream?

It should not. In our testing VocoTV's connections behaved independently, with one device buffering having no effect on the others.
