Independent IPTV testing for US households

IPTV free trials in the USA: who offers one and what to test

All eight services we track offer a 24-hour trial, and none of them ask for a card to start it. That makes the trial the single most useful tool you have — and also the one most people waste, by activating it at eleven in the morning on a Tuesday and concluding the service is flawless.

The trial is not there to prove the stream can play. Every service can play a stream at 11am. It is there to prove the stream holds up at the exact time you actually watch, on the exact hardware you own, over your own internet connection.

Ownership disclosure. The services ranked on this page — TereaTV, FreeGoTV, VocoTV, BexyTV, KroozTV, ViewTVY, EarthWebTV and VinomTV — are all operated by the same company that publishes this site, and we earn money when you subscribe to any of them. Figures such as channel counts and library sizes are supplied by the services themselves and are not independently audited. The ranking

  1. BexyTV

    8.8/10

    What works

    • $8.33 a month on the annual plan, level with the cheapest here
    • Plays in a normal web browser, so there is nothing to install
    • Trial starts without entering a card

    What does not

    • The published feature table lists two simultaneous devices on every tier, which contradicts the six-device selector above it
    • Browser playback uses more power on older TVs than a native app

  3. TereaTV

    Best overall

    • Held a full stream through peak evening hours in every test window

How to use a 24-hour window properly

Activate it in the evening, not the morning. Peak load in the United States runs roughly 7pm to 11pm local time, and that is when a weak service reveals itself. A trial that only covers daytime hours tells you almost nothing.

Test on the device you will actually use. A stream that runs cleanly on a laptop over Wi-Fi is not evidence that it will run cleanly on a five-year-old smart TV in a back bedroom.

Check the on-demand catalogue for three or four specific titles you care about, not the total count. Large libraries are frequently padded, and the only way to know whether yours contains what you want is to look for it.

What a trial cannot tell you

Twenty-four hours will not tell you whether support responds to a real problem, whether the service is still running in six months, or whether the channel list is maintained. Those are the questions a single paid month answers.

That is the sequence we recommend throughout this site: trial to check basic fit, one paid month to check reliability, then annual if it earned it.

Common questions

Do IPTV free trials require a credit card?

Not on any of the eight services here. All offer a 24-hour trial that starts without payment details.

How long do IPTV free trials last?

24 hours is standard across this market. None of the services we track offer a longer trial.

Can I get more than one trial?

Trials are generally limited to one per person or device. Some services allow a second trial after a period has passed, but this is not something to rely on.

What is the best time to start a trial?

Early evening, so the window covers peak hours between 7pm and 11pm when networks are under the most load and weak services show it.
